I was at the Chinese restaurant (actually Vietnamese-owned) and they had a little buddhist home shrine with joss sticks burning. Smelt nice, but the smell stuck in my clothes and hair and all, and burning joss sticks is actually very unhealthy, so they're in a bit of widespread critique. Might be a good idea to keep a 'smoking' home shrine at home. Public restaurant, maybe not so much.
Also, the buddha figurine was surrounded by red, green and white blinking lights, so bright that they lit the opposite wall. That seemed quite the style breaker.
