How to run a dilettante business (Steam, Deutsche Telekom etc.)

Professional: "This is a very security-sensitive system. What if an admin screws up?"
Dilettante: "They are professionals and paid well not to screw up."
Professional: (facepalm)

P.S.: Theoretical example. Not implying they're actually paid well. Also, often the problem is time (workload) and no money can buy a 30 hour day. (In the business' hands it can pay additional employees though.)

P.P.S.: When I mention Deutsche Telekom, I could also add that they're basically admitting to be greedy bastards who have no interest in not screwing over the customer.
